BACKGROUND

once upon a time the revered and illustrious dragon god of the heavenly domains, chao qianglong, also known as lóng wáng back then, met ruin at the hands of those whom he'd once believed he could trust. his fall from the celestial realms was violent, swift and unjust, yet it was portrayed as a necessary sacrifice.

this marked his first death and the beginning of his misfortune.

embitter and enraged at the injustice wrought upon him, chao qianglong returned to the heavens to seek vengeance a millennium later. he wrecked havoc upon every realm, leaving death and devastation in his wake, but was ultimately defeated by the war god, jiān yong (坚勇) in a battle that culminated in his second death.

for eleven more cycles, chao qianglong turned the celestial domains upside down, each time dying by the blade of the war god.

on his fourteenth cycle, he disappeared.

millenniums later, chao qianglong, born as chao wei, mysteriously resurfaced as the new dragon king of the demonic realms. on his sixteenth cycle now, he spends his days drinking, traveling and sleeping his way into almost every domain.

naturally, the heavens still do not welcome him and he has yet to forgive them in turn. this marks the end of his misfortune.
